Welcome back. Here’s what we have for today’s show:
We started out by taking a look at the details of the Rodger Saffold contract. You can see the full layout below, compliments of spotrac.com
I still think he’s a bit overpaid, but overall I’m happy with the construct of the contract.
We followed up with the signing of CB Greg Reid. Don’t worry, I had no idea who he was either.
Next Mike and I each chose one FA whom we identified as a missed opportunity for the Rams. Both players would have bolstered a thin defensive secondary and both players signed for less than either of us expected.
We followed up by touching on the Lindenwood and Mizzou pro-days, before starting our search for a pass-rushing outside linebacker in the draft. We took a look at some of the big names–Khalil Mack, Anthony Barr, C.J. Mosley, and Ryan Shazier–and then added one late round sleeper. I was especially impressed with Khalil Mack. Check out the his game against Ohio State below (compliments of Draftbreakdown.com) and let me know if you feel the same.
After the linebacker search, we answered some of your Twitter questions. The topics included: The future of Sam Bradford, the state of the WR corps, the impact of drafting Sammy Watkins, an the offseason moves of NFC west rivals.
With closed out with an explanation from Jon as to why he finds Matthew McConaughey to be so beastly, and a trifecta of tweets from Chris Long.
Tweet of the Week
Well, I’m having some Twitter issues right now. We’ll fix that. For now you’ll just have to listen and use your imagination.
Thanks for listening. If you have any questions or comments, don’t be shy about speaking up in the comments section below. You can also leave us a voice message (we may even use it in an episode).
